How to read your birth chart wheel
The outer circle shows the 12 zodiac signs. Planet markers show where the Sun, Moon and planets sat at your birth. The lines in the center show selected major angular relationships called aspects.
Your house information appears here.
The wheel uses the Western tropical zodiac and Equal House system. Planetary positions are geocentric. Astrological interpretations are symbolic and for entertainment.

What is a birth chart (natal chart)?
A birth chart — also called a natal chart or astrology chart — is a map of the celestial positions at a specific birth date, time, and location. A birth chart calculator determines the zodiac positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets. In Western astrology, people interpret those placements symbolically to reflect on identity, emotions, relationships, and personal patterns.
This free birth chart calculator and reading shows your tropical zodiac placements, major planetary aspects, and — when the birth time is known — your Ascendant and Equal House placements. It is designed to make natal chart reading understandable even if this is your first astrology chart.
How to calculate your birth chart
- Enter your birthday, local time of birth, and birthplace.
- Choose the matching city or enter exact coordinates and a timezone.
- Tap Reveal My Birth Chart to calculate the positions.
- Explore your Sun, Moon, Rising sign, planets, houses, and aspects.
- Save your cosmic personality card or explore zodiac clothing that matches your sign.
What do your Sun, Moon & Rising signs mean?
Sun sign: In astrology, your core self and conscious identity. Moon sign: Emotional habits, needs, and inner experiences. Rising sign: The zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at birth, traditionally associated with first impressions and approach to life.
If your birth time is unknown, the Rising sign and house placements cannot be determined reliably. The Moon may also be uncertain around a sign change.

Free birth chart reading FAQs
Is this birth chart calculator free?
Yes. You can calculate a natal chart, read your planetary placements, explore your major aspects, and save a share card without signing up or paying.
What information do I need for a birth chart?
Your birth date, birth time, and birthplace are best. The city identifies coordinates and a historical timezone; the time is used to calculate rising signs and houses. If you do not know the time, use the unknown-time option.
Can I calculate my natal chart without a birth time?
Yes, with limitations. This tool uses local noon as a reference to estimate planetary placements and clearly omits a Rising sign and houses. If the Moon enters a different sign that day, it warns that your Moon sign is uncertain.
What zodiac and house systems does this calculator use?
It uses the Western tropical zodiac and Equal House system. House 1 begins at the Ascendant, and each subsequent house spans 30 degrees. Other calculators may use Placidus, Whole Sign, sidereal, or Vedic systems and therefore show different results.
Is a birth chart reading scientifically proven?
Planetary positions can be calculated from astronomy. Astrology's interpretations of personality and relationships are cultural and symbolic, not scientifically validated predictions or diagnoses.
What is the difference between a birth chart, astrology chart, and zodiac chart?
They often refer to the same natal map of celestial placements. A Sun-sign horoscope uses only one part of that map; a natal chart also includes the Moon, planets, aspects, and possibly houses and Rising sign.
Why do two birth chart calculators disagree?
Check the birthplace, birth time, daylight-saving adjustment, zodiac type, and house system. Some charts use tropical zodiac, others sidereal; some use Equal House, others Placidus or Whole Sign. Small differences near sign or house boundaries can matter.
Can I share my birth chart without revealing my date of birth?
Yes. The share link created by this tool includes only your Sun, Moon, and available Rising sign. It does not include your birth date, birth time, or birthplace. The downloadable card is also based on those signs.
Methodology: Client-side geocentric planetary positions from Astronomy Engine, Western tropical zodiac, local civil-to-UTC time conversion using IANA timezone data supplied by the browser, and an Equal House system when the birth time is known. Readings are editorial interpretations for entertainment. Birthplace accuracy and historical timezone rules can affect time-sensitive placements.
